If I go

Life is a journey shaped by the paths we walk, the memories we hold, and the dreams we chase. Sometimes, we find ourselves reflecting on the meaning of it all—what we hope to leave behind, and what it means to truly live without regrets. In these words, I capture my own wish for peace and fulfillment, whatever life or fate may bring.

If I must go, let it be when I’ve done all I can,

to make this little life feel whole,

walked each path with an open heart,

Till I can no more.

Let me feel everything come back to me,

my memories replaying warmly,

As my breath softens and air slips away,

With a smile on my face,

Content of a life lived my way.

And if I can’t,

for death’s not our picking,

let me go, swift and unknowing,

With no regret in my soul,

Or tears in my eyes,

Let me not remember all that I’ve seen,

The life I did not live,

If death surely does come,

before my dreams are with me.
